the escalators broke down it's been like that for a while there's urine smell always by the stairs at the top and the bottom but that's about it
The first thing that impressed me about the system was the smell. I rode it for an entire week and it always smelled freshly washed with a pleasant scent. Something I really appreciated! the interior of the trains and the station platforms were also very clean.
This is one of the best designed Metro stations in the system, using an existing railroad tunnel going through downtown. Escalators and elevators are on both the eastbound and westbound trains. Indirect lighting and sculpted stone walls accent the utilitarian arched concrete ceiling. The only issue is water puddles at the south entrance during heavy rains.
I found it clean and safe when I used it. Just be aware that you might get turned around when you get to street level and are looking to head to the arch.
