The Boldman House Museum

I have been in many historic homes and museums, but this one is the most interesting. It is full of original pieces of period furniture and goods from the owner. The Boldman Home was built during the early and prosperous days of the Wild West. The beautiful mansion has a lovely tour guide who engages all your questions with friendly and personal conversation. It is filled with artwork that is interesting and unique. The home is a victorian home with many amenities of the time, but tells the story of a western family and the years spent in this serene, yet wild territory. Dayton is beautiful and a hidden gem. A must see, along with the one room school house, train depot and the historic, and quaint Dayton Main Street. Great wine awaits you , at the end of the line or the day, at the Dumas Station.

One of the best historic homes I've ever toured. Feels like you've walked back in time. Staff are so knowledgeable about the home, family, and the era. I was extremely impressed.
