North Park Police Department

Just encountered Officer Stewart close to the Elementary School. He pulled me over for expired plates in the work vehicle I was driving. He stood patiently as I called my employer to ask about the plates. All parties confused I asked him to look up the plates to see if they had been registered and we as a company had failed to apply the sticker to the plate. Returning from his car he was quick to issue a citation. It was very apparent from the conversation he overheard on my truck stereo system that I did not receive the registration notice. I asked why the ticket had not been issued as a fix it or warning. His answer was that he was doing me a favor and in the current state he could tow the vehicle. Respectfully I told him he could do as he wished, but as a citizen of North Logan I didn't appreciate the extreme threats in response to a simple question. I am first to admit as a driver I should check the plates before driving and today I was guilty of a citation. Please North Park stop bringing new officers to our community who are inconsiderate and unable to conduct a traffic stop without threatening to tow. Its bad enough to be ticking for revenue but its worse to answer the public's questions by going to extremes. Actions such as this are ruining the image of the kind officers who have served before and help make this community a great place to live. Officer Stewart....Shape up or Ship out! We as citizens expect the best and today's encounter was far from that.

I have worked with the North Park Police Department for 12 years doing the North Logan Pumpkin Walk. They are always very helpful and we couldn't do the walk without them. Thank you very much. A North Logan Pumpkin Walk committee staff. We'll see ya next year!!

Kim Hawkes was a fantastic chief of police who casts a long shadow. I have always felt that the officers in the department integrate themselves into the community and add tremendous value!

Our only interaction here was taking our leftover prescription for them to dispose of. They met us there and were very helpful.

With police like this, who needs criminals? Violated victims rights. Released report to non-untitled person in violation of GRAMA Act and Victims Right to Privacy Act.
