Brought in two down comforters with smooth fabric to be laundered. They returned two with ribbed fabric that are not ours, one of which is stained. They claim they never make mistakes. I have the original packaging from our comforters. This cost us for the loss of ours and for the replacement that we purchased. This cleaner aggregates from multiple stores and cleans offsite. Never again; I will use Valet Cleaners in Southern Pines where all the work is done in house.
We asked American Cleaners to dry clean a custom-made comforter. Debbie Darnell, the manager of their Aberdeen location, recommended laundering the item since it had some organic puppy stains. She assured us that they do this all the time, that it would be laundered in cold water and hung to air dry.nOur comforter is ruined. It has shrunk by several inches causing it to not lay flat on the bed at the edges and it looks like it has been through multiple wash cycles. You can see this clearly in the picture – we’ll let you decide which side is before and after.nAmerican Cleaners has accepted no responsibility. They did refund the amount we paid for the cleaning but gave us a letter stating that this was a problem of the fabric manufacturer.nWe are recommending to our friends that they no longer utilize American Cleaners for their dry cleaning or laundry needs.
