So I'm not Grace Claridy she's using my account as I can keep a better eye on her. Anyway I'm new to HCS(Johnsonville and LSE) and I'm going to say, may God truly bless the staff from the principals, teachers, office staff, down to the cafeteria staff, custodians, bus drivers, groundskeepers etc. My son has Ms. Hatcher and I believe she was placed in my son's life and mine for a purpose. God Bless this remarkable teacher! We transferred from another county and before that base school systems. 3rd grade in our other county, I lost my baby. Everything he learned, all the blood sweat and tears from k-2nd just vanished. His mind just shut down and I believed I lost my baby forever.he quit talking too. It was never explained how he regressed so much and I had samples, tests, progress notes from his base teacher and the TAs! 4th grade, old school, something happened. His behavior at home when it was time for school was like preparing for battle. he started saying no school mummy no school nunny... he cried and I even dropped him off in the mornings for breakfast. He would come home and his behavior was not good always red never green not anything positive. He would cry for an hour but never tell us; I prayed and prayed over him and my other 2, finally we moved out of that county and into this one. He saw his new school and was absolutely terrified he was screaming and crying and begging to not go. We got into the office and immediately I picked up on the emotions and vibes of everything all at once. The lady at the desk was so extremely nice and I explained to her what I believed had happened. His teacher showed up not all fancy I thought maybe she was a parent... my son still crying I looked at him right then and there and something came through me and I told him while holding his face that he is safe now, he is cared for, he is loved, he will learn, and nobody will ever hurt him again. I told his new teacher a brief as well. It took awhile and some trust from Nick to allow him to get me to leave but not without reassuring him over and over he's safe and loved.nFast forward, Nick is so happy to see his teacher and smiles when he gets off the bus. I had to take him to an appointment early so I was telling his teacher about how smart he is when it comes to electronics and she looks at me and tells me yeah he really is.. being a mom, you doubt especially after the last school, and she told me about the assessment and Nick remembered everything from k-2.. he can read and count and math add subtract handwriting needs work. I want y'all to understand, I thought she was nuts. I said I love you too pieces, I'm blessed your his teacher, but that window closed that's it... she went on about what he knows and I looked at her and said well then, did you read his iep any? She told me very low expectations were set for him. By the time I left that front school door I was crying and hugging on and kissing his head. I didn't lose my son and he now is talking more than ever! Idc if anyone says anything nasty about our school, my son is proof he is at a wonderful school with people who genuinely care about him and not there to collect a pay check
