This building is an outstanding example of early vernacular Ozark architecture and community pride that saved this historic relic from the wrecking ball. Civil War buffs will appreciate the structure's role in the war. Route 66 fans will appreciate the building’s use as a hotel during the early years of the famed Mother Road. Be prepared- this museum is staffed by volunteers and is only open on Saturdays during April through September between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. There isn’t an admission fee but feel free to leave a donation and please leave them a review. The outside is an unique Instagram backdrop even when the museum is closed.

Very cool part of history! The staff was very knowledgeable, they do a great job of detailing history in an interesting way! Fun family event. They operate on donations.

This was not exactly what I was expecting, but it was good. The guides were very friendly and very informative. The building itself is really cool and it is interesting how each room set up for different time periods of its life.
