Tomoka Pointe Apartments

UPDATE 3/21/21- I have filed my complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The lease is vague and does not directly state the apartment has to be “professionally” cleaned.nnDo NOT move here! Tomoka Pointe apartments/ Waypoint Management is a scam! I moved out on Dec. 31st and still have not received my deposit. They said I would be getting my $300 deposit check soon, but there are $300 in “damages”. Apparently, they charge every tenant for a professional carpet cleaning and professional cleaning upon move out. It just so happens these charges equal the exact same amount as the deposit ($300). Per Susie who works there, this information is in the lease. However she will not tell me where in the lease it states this (I’ve asked twice). I’ve contacted the corporate office via phone and email, only to receive one email reply. They have been copied on all my emails with Susie, but they do not reply. The manager, Christine, is no where to be found in this situation. The only person who will respond to me is Susie, and she is less than pleasant to deal with. She even talked over me on the phone one day. Before they started emailing me back, I placed over 20 calls and they rarely answered. Often times I had to call 3-4 times in a row to get someone to pick up. On the seldom occasion they answered the phone they would say they are busy and would call me back. I got one call back for all those calls placed. My first email was sent on 2/21 with several points of concern and they finally replied on 3/2 with “Received, thank you”. Unacceptable for any business. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of professionalism from Waypoint. I would NEVER recommend living at Tomoka Pointe apartments, this has been a nightmare! It is now March 13th and this has yet to be resolved.

My experience at Tomoka Pointe Apartments has been a very positive one!! Saleena helped me find the perfect unit for me and my twins!! She has been there to help with every question I have had, every step of the way. Saleena’s customer service skills are above and beyond my expectations in every way. My apartment is beautiful-from the awesome kitchen that made me feel right at home cooking, with stainless steel appliances, 42” cabinets and granite island, to plenty of space for my dining table. I also love the wood-look laminate floors. I have an awesome lake /fountain and pool view from my back porch. Every time I’ve ever called maintenance, they have fixed the minor issue immediately. I can’t say enough about how lovely it has been to work with Saleena over the past 9 months while living at Tomoka Pointe Apartments. This is an excellent place to live!

The new management that has taken over is horrible. I am paying rent, and they act like they are doing me a favor. I was speaking to the community manager on the phone about a garage fob that was suppose to be ready for pick up on 12/10/2020, of course it was not ready, but the community manager assured me it would be ready by 1 pm the next day. Guess what, it's the next day, fob is not ready, and she gets an attitude with me and hang up the phone. I will be moving as soon as my lease expire. If you want to pay top notch rent and get horrible customer service, this is the place for you. If you want your rent payment to match the quality of customer service, please look elsewhere. I am only giving one star because it's required.

Honestly I would have given this place 5 stars until we got new management. Our gates have been broken for months and made our community unsafe. My friends cars have been broken into and there are fights and yelling at 2am or later. Management has done NOTHING about any of this while we pay to live in a “safe” community. Every time we have a problem they act like we are an inconvenience. For example at the residential gym we ran out of sanitation wipes and the man that came to replace them was nothing but rude to us for asking for more. It also took the maintenance people over a week to fix our AC. This place does not care about your health or well being even during times of covid-19. Truly a shame that the management is incompetent as they are very nice and new apartments. I will not be renewing my lease here.

DO NOT MOVE HERE. Endless/ongoing issues with gate malfunction for the past 10 months. Weekly (and recently daily), the gate gets stuck in a half open position. At 3 am the other day it was stuck closed and an ambulance and fire truck were honking their horns and wailing the siren to try and get in. Tried to call management after hours but they have a recording NOT to call about gate. It literally was a matter of life & death and they still don’t care. Very disappointing crew at the office, don’t get your hopes up.
