I stayed for a couple days during my kid’s spring break. We live close and were able to bring our kid-size bike while I used the adult bikes on site. We had a great time on the beach- it was close (especially with the bikes), beautiful, and nearly empty. The kitchen is small but serviceable- I wouldn’t want to cook a full meal but pots and pans were available. We ate on the porch for every meal and it was delightful. The room was clean and additional cleaning supplies were provided (sponge, dish soap, paper towels, etc) which was nice.

I would give them 5 stars for a clean and comfortable place. They checked us in early and answered our calls promptly. Recommendations would be for more towels to start out with, we called for more but it would be better to have a few more to start out with. Also the bikes could use some maintenance, tire pressure is low on some of them and the seats were loose on some. Overall, we would stay here again.

I stayed 4 nights in #6 Parakeet at Parrots Nest and my only regret is not staying longer. Location on the quiet east end was perfect for me. There was excellent food available right next door at the Lighthouse Cafe. Ocean access was an easy walk to a relatively less busy part of the beach.nParakeet was sparkling clean and well equipped. I really loved having the private patio table to dine on just outside the kitchen door.nThe rental experience was easy...Kim was professional and friendly. I really appreciated all the restaurant suggestions.nParakeet was true paradise for me and I am already plotting my return!

This is a cute little cottage! It’s perfect for 2 people. We stayed in #2 which is a 1B/1B. You are one block from the beach without crossing any streets. Wagons to haul your gear are available. They have bikes and grills available too. Tremendous value-not the RITZ but still very cute and clean. Pros: quiet, private, great bed, helpful staff, laundry, place to clean shells, close to a nearly private beach and a great value! Cons: you will have to drive into town for restaurants-not biking distance, and during season the car line moves very slowly (allow 2 hrs extra for the drive to the airport), alligator sightings, and you are not beachfront. I would stay her again.

We have stayed at a Breakaway Vacation home for the last 3 years. Kim and the entire team are professional, friendly and very responsive when you have any needs. The property is always very clean when arrive, and we are happy that we found them to help us find a vacation rental. Will definitely return next year!
