We are writing of our negative and highly disappointing experience with Four Star Realty. We contacted the agency regarding a property we found online and was helped by a wonderful agent who guided us through the process up to financing. After sending a 10% deposit, we were told that the agency had arranged financing and we were fully prepared to move from our residence in Arkansas to Leesburg, FL. 36 hours before closing, they told us we had no funds to proceed. We were arranging for home owners insurance and following all directions as instructed when we were informed that we had to pay the insurance in full. After scrambling and arranging to meet this new requirement, they told us the deal was off.nWe had made all the arrangements including all utilities scheduled to be turned on, having all of our current utilities scheduled off, a two week notice to our employers and we had given a 30 day notice to our current landlord. We had a $6700 cashiers check ready to send along with our signed and notarized agreement they had mailed us. As previously mentioned, they already had a $3500 deposit on file. There appears to be an internal struggle among the staff and we feel we were used as pawns as a tool to get at one another. This is very disappointing and disheartening. My wife and our family are crushed. We were all looking forward to reuniting in our home State. I live in a different state and my brother is down in Florida and he went and was able to deal with the walk through and inspections for me. But when we got down there for the closing, Colleen was really great she walked up through the house and she met us for the closing

All I can say is 4 star didn't even review the qualifications for purchase of a non land home sale. Which cost 2 families. The buyer needed an affordable place because of covid dampererd economy.... I accepted....but our agent was ill prepared...and cobble stone, AKA Lakeshore 55+ in Leesburg Fl....refused a full years rent in advance. I hope they're doing ok. 2 lousy companies for true citizens of the USA and Earth in general.
