I had an not so great experience today with a simple request of placing tags on dog collars that I purchased online for a specific reason. County is mailing tags so no rivets were obtained. I go in to Abbott Farm Supply to see if they could attach the tags to the collars for me and an older woman somewhat rudely implied they don't normally unless I was a regular customer but they would and they would have to charge me which never crossed my mind that they would do it for free. The rest of the staff was OK but nothing friendly or inviting. This is the problem with supporting local businesses, smiles and friendliness is what gets regular returning customers. Definitely made me not want to return.
Such a difference from the box store. Every one was there to help me. They epitomize the reason to buy local.
I went to Abbott's for the first time yesterday and Bill stopped what he was doing to help me find what I needed, gave me some helpful tips, and looked up on the computer if he could order something for me they didn't have in stock. I'm so happy I finally stopped in and will be returning!
They always have what I'm looking for and they are ready to help time you hit the door.
My go-to garden center! Plants are healthier and cheaper compared to area box stores. They are also a Carhartt clothing store, gun store, and farm supplier. Great selection of Muck and work boots. They even sell bulk seed and will scoop it out from bins. Not only a fun experience, but way cheaper than seed packets. I have even custom ordered plants from them, so you can get anything you want that you don’t see locally, even native and pollinator plants. The staff make the experience! It’s always a fun time to shop at Abbott’s!
