I’ve been in several gold and silver mines over the years growing up. I took my kids to this gold mine in Cripple Creek. several years ago while road tripping through Colorado. The trip up there to the mine itself is amazing with spectacular views. The mine tour was super informative, the tour guide was funny and well educated at the same time about the mine making it an all around fun experience!! I would highly recommend anyone to anyone driving through the area to stop and check it out. I do believe they are closed right now for off season, but are set to open back up in early May 2021!

This was AMAZING! if you're claustrophobic in the least this may be too much to handle, but if not, this is a MUST!! We had a great time and learned a lot as this was the setting for my book series, Hawthorn Lake. I know my fans are always interested in seeing the inspiration behind my novels.

The Mollie Kathleen Mine tour was a fantastic experience. It was entertaining and educational. The tour guide was funny and knowledgeable. I believe he said he was a 3rd generation miner. He was able to answer all of our questions.nnThe tour was 1 hour long. We descended 1000 feet underground into the mine shaft. We were crammed into a tiny cart for the descent. Once we exited the cart, the mine itself was very roomy. Along the tour, the guide not only explained how mining progresses but he also was able to demonstrate how different equipment and techniques were used. This part was loud. Cover you ears! In the middle of the tour we rode a short tram. At the end of the tour the guide gave us a history lesson about mining in the area.nnOverall, I highly recommend this for anyone. We paid $25 per adult and believe it's well worth it.nnTips:nThe ground can be slippery. Wear good shoes.nThe temperature underground is very cool so bring a light jacket.nThe equipment demonstrated is very loud so bring ear protection it you have sensitive ears.nThey provide hard hats at the beginning of the tour.nExplore the Cripple Creek Heritage Center before or after the tour to add to the experience.

This your is awesome! Not only do you get to go down in a mine, you ride on a skiff and asee the old machines in operation. The tours are lead by actual miners, not high school kids on summer break. We all enjoyed it, from 7 year old to 75 year old.

We toured with the best tour guide yesterday. We can’t remember her name but she was amazing! We were the last tour of the day and no one additional came so we ended up getting a private tour of the mine. It was an amazing experience. The tour guide made it personal and took the time to go though all the details of the mine. She was passionate and was happy to be there. It was clear to see and made for a great tour experience. We were visiting from Maryland. If we have any friends/ family come to the area we would absolutely recommend taking a tour. It’s a MUST do while on the area.
