Family day at the museum! We had 5 adults and 9 children ages 7 through 15. The kids were very attentive during the interesting presentation by a staff member! Wow!!! They all had a great time panning for gold (adults included) and we spent approximately an hour and a half checking out this great museum. Thanks for a relatively inexpensive family outing!

Nice museum that gives a good sense of the mining industry during an earlier period. Especially nice is the demonstrations on the steam engines and the presentation by the volunteers. Cold day kept us inside but will give us a good reason to come back.

We really enjoyed the museum! Lots of old machinery that still works (or at least it moves and you can see how it works). The docent we spoke with was AWESOME and pretty much have us a guided tour of the whole museum. The kids had fun panning for gold, I'm still not sure of they got gold or pyrite. I definitely recommend.

Small museum but the docents were very knowledgeable. He turned on each machine and walked us through each exhibit. Spent about 45 minutes there.

We spent the day here for the Harvest Festival and had a GREAT time. The pumpkin patch was stocked really well and the games outside were fun for the family. The museum was closed during the festival but I can't wait to go back and take my daughter. We loved the working blacksmith shop and all the old equipment. Plus we found some gold in the free gold panning! It was an amazing family day.
