Westerly Police Department

Any time I have needed the help of the westerly pd (for minor issues) they have been absolutely awesome. Fast response time, down to the point, and friendly, down to earth, approachable officers. I fully respect them and are grateful that they are in charge of keeping our town safe

Again I spoke to the Westerly police about an issue and again they were great to work with. Very cordial, prompt and efficient. I am very impressed! Thank you, gentlemen, for your assistance. I really appreciate it.

We are relatively new to the area as we purchased a cottage in Westerly last year. I had to call the Police Dept. today because our alarm system indicated an open door. I googled the Westerly PD to get the phone number and was a bit taken aback to find a very low rating and many scathing comments. I have had the opportunity to speak with them on four occasions now (including today). All of my encounters with the Westerly Police Dept. have been positive. They have always treated me in a professional manner and have answered my questions and addressed any concerns. Today the officer who answered the phone asked a number of questions to confirm my identity and was very attentive to my concerns about our open door alarms. A very short time later another officer called from our cottage to inform me that he had done a thorough check and found no problems. He made suggestions concerning the door switch and was very cordial and professional. On another occasion last fall a tree had fallen across our road. The officer on scene and I traded a few light hearted comments and he asked if I knew how to get in from the other side. I said that I did and went on my way. So far my wife and I are impressed. Perhaps they have changed since these other reviews. Whatever the case, we feel confident in their abilities. And thank you again, by the way, to the officers who helped us today.

Lt campbell was very nice about my speeding ticket. He acknowledged i was sincere and trying to do the right thing repairing a damaged past. Thank you for the break. Need more officers that are HUMAN . Sincerely ,Brian kelleher

I was working at a customer house and parked on the street and left a huge amount of room for other vehicles to get by and I got a $15 obstruction violation. Mind you it was 7:55am when I saw the cop put the ticket on my car. When try and get his/her attention they didn't even bother to stop. I looked at the ticket he wrote it for 7:50am. Thanks for nothing instead of looking for crime you rather give out petty tickets to hard working people trying to make a living. Westerly police department is a joke. I rather die then call you for help any day.
