Museum of Newport History

The museum is small and informative. They also host a number of walking tours. Our tour guide for the Colonial Newport walk, Pat, is extremely knowledgeable.

So much of what you learn in Newport is from the Gilded Age. This museum gives you scoop on the founding of Rhode island and colonial times. Small but very interesting.

The museum is small, but well put together. We went on a tour too. Our guide was good with lots of knowledge and an affable demeanor, though she spoke rather quickly and was occasionally hard to hear over traffic.

Great place especially the roof garden of the Vanderbild Hotel with views over the harbour. Cute town, twee shops. Museum interesting and friendly.
