Chris and I stopped by so he could check out the toy soldiers. I asked to use the facilities. They were kind enough to allow me to do so.nI found a two table section of used books, DVDs, and other related historical magazine like items. We purchased one used DVD, and one used novel on historically related persons.nThe wind was very brisk. And it was more noticeable out there when there was not many trees to slow the wind down. Thus it felt more chilly than in town or on the other side of the river with the businesses breaking up that wind flow.

This is a fantastic historical spot in ohio. The fort is awesome. the museum very nicely set up and they have a lot of artifacts found at the fort. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the fort. They have a nice little gift shop. There are walking paths and handicap parking along with a handicap accessible entrance to the museum. There are restrooms for paid museum customers only. They accept cash and credit. I would highly recommend visiting this amazing historical site.

I was here with friends on a history get away and this is a first rate place to visit!!! If you love War of 1812 history or any military history, this is the place for you!!! Very interesting and well presented displays and all staff were most helpful. Audio visual information was very helpful please start your tour in the visitors center. This will better explain what you will see in the fort. There were also WW2 reenactors present who were very informative. Plan to spend a good chunk of time here as it is so so so interesting!!! Well worth the time and effort to go here. Loved it!!!ud83cudf1fud83cudf1fud83dude03ud83dude03

It was very nice. Things were well kept. The only things that were less than, was a misspelling on one of the entries & one display made of glass panels had plastic coating on it that was peeling. We had a pleasant walk around the fort area. We enjoyed all the bunkhouses. The obelisk was an unexpected feature. I grew up near Erie,PA & had often heard of Commodore Perry. I hadn't realized that he had such an impact at Fort Meigs. I enjoyed having those pieces of history put together.
