Awesome find. The displays and artifacts are remarkable. They tell the story of fly fishing in the Catskills vividly. The staff are friendly and have great advice on local rivers and fish. They also have a small gift shop with great ideas for the angler in your world. :)nThe museum is small but has so many great things to see. Pull off the highway and go in. It’s totally worth it.

This place is beautiful! Cross a narrow bridge over the Willowemoc Creek and you arrive at this peaceful estate dedicated to fly fishing. The grounds were nicely kept, including some recently carved nature trails through the woods along the bank of the Willowemoc. There is a pond onsite fed by the Willowemoc that looks like it has all sorts of fish in it.. The staff are friendly and the museum pays homage to the history of fly fishing and its roots right here in the Catskills. There is a gift shop that serves as the entry to the museum and seperately a workshop where they occasionally host sessions on making bamboo fly rods. I'd love to see them do workshops on fly tying too. And was able to fish the pond and the Willowemoc right there on the museum grounds! Work the visit and I'll certainly be back to explore more.

This is a must-see for anyone interested in fly fishing. Staff are knowledgeable and so friendly. While fishing is not my cup of tea, I was impressed with the quality and care given to museum. Upon entry the wooden bridge may look imposing but rest assured, it is well built.

This enriched my understanding of fly fishing and inspired me to continue my research of ecology.

I was pleasantly surprised given that I had no prior interest. Only went because my husband wanted to go. The rod building shop and making of flies was very informative.
