Max Chophouse

Went here for my friend's birthday last night. Great atmosphere and waiter. However, my steak was rather tough even though I ordered it rare. Overall, we enjoyed our time but I've had better steak other places

Our first time at max's and it was amazing! Natalie was our server and she was so friendly and attentive! The food was magical, mouth watering perfection. Drink were fabulous as well! Will definitely be back!

Upscale, cozy, classy, a special occasion, or a stop at the bar... a favorite place! They have a small yet wonderful selection of wine and allow tastings before the pour. The service has always been impeccable and I have been going there for years. It is a bit pricey, but if you want a perfect steak and excellent service, you won't be sorry here!

An insultingly bad experience. I’ve been here before and it was wonderful. I’m now wondering what happened to what used to be an upscale Rochester institution.nA few highlights:n- I asked for a wine list and was told they could only recite my choices. She listed types of wine without telling me brands. At a high-end restaurant, I’d like to know what wine I’m buying not just “Pinot noir” like you’re choosing from some boxes in the back.n- our waitress was incredibly awkward. Several times she hovered over us while we were eating before uncomfortably asking if she could clear our plates.n- my boyfriend’s steak was underdone, mine was overdone.n- the lights were flickering on/off the entire time.n- we had leftover sides and steaks and everything was thrown together in a single box like slop. The box was so heavy it ended up leaking on me in the car on the way home.

Great food. Service was amazing. Enjoyed everything. Will be going back
