Wonderful welcome center with beautiful taxidermy of local animals, rock samples and an educational room with bird viewing area. Friendly staff answer questions and restrooms are on site. Maps of surrounding trails available including a short, quick hike to view a nearby pristine lake. Great for visitors and Adirondack residents!

If you are birding the Adirondacks, this is a great place to stop. Charlotte was a great source of information for local sightings.

This is a perfect place to visit nice comfortable hikes , a chance to see probably the oldest cedars in the Adirondacks. Very nice staff, very helpfull.

Beautiful, well-maintained loop trails take one through old growth forest, along lakes, streams, brooks, marshland, and other wetlands. The interpretive center has interesting exhibits and friendly, informative staff and interns. I greatly value the work being done at this SUNY Environmental Sciences and Forestry campus.
