Pretty cool to see. But, be careful for ticks.
Pretty much what I expected as far as the buildings go but lots of mosquitoes. Some of the ruins there’s just a post where a building used to be but nothing else. There is a picnic table in the main building but it was covered in rodent droppings...as are most of the rest of the buildings. Half our group wasn’t really into the hike but seemed like a fun place to explore with more time and DEET. About a 5 mile round trip hike from the parking area.
Fun hike, love learning about these things
Beautiful place to hike and swim. Hiked through the woods from spider lake, that’s a bit of a rough go at times but it was worth it. Neat seeing the old buildings and sites. Don’t expect a well kept museum or anything. Just a small piece of rundown history. Great memories at a peaceful lake.
