We drive from Bucksport to get an estimate on a fence. Eric a gave us directions but when we got there the gate locked. A truck pulled up behind us and we drove in . Went to the show room where a sign said it was closed. A women came to the door a nd we told her what we wanted. She said wait a minute and disappeared. We waited 10 minutes and then left. Don't know a out thier work but customer service sucks.
Allenfarm installed a safety fence around the perimeter of an open culvert on our commercial property in Skowhegan. Unfortunately, there was some miscommunication at the outset, and the fence was placed farther away from the culvert than we had intended. To Allenfarm's credit, they really came through for us with their customer service and moved the fence, at their expense, to the proper location. This is the kind of integrity that is simply missing from too many companies these days. We have worked with many, many contractors, and it is often not such a good experience. Kudos to Steve at Allenfarm for seeing this through to the point where we are very satisfied customers. I highly recommend Allenfarm to anyone with fencing needs.
The Burnt Cove Church Community Center/Mount Rest Cemetery are very pleased with the new fence. The workers did a great job putting it up. It looks awesome!!nAllen Farm Fence is a great company to do business with. Everyone I spoke with, on the phone, the salesman, Brian Picard and the guys that did the work were very professional
When you pay for their service you know you are over paying but you figure their customer service and customer care is why you are paying more. Wrong. A panel of lattice top privacy fence was $500 (part only) from Allenfarm while a very similar (almost indistinguishable -- can you tell the difference in the picture I am posting?) panel was $150 from the Maine Cedar Store. Brian, Jamie, Steve and the very nice man who did the work on my fence each told me different things about how to fix my fence and the ability for the gate they installed to work. I paid over $1000 to have them take out the solid cedar posts on either side of the entrance gate... So I was paying to take out the original posts they installed a few years earlier because my fence panels were sagging. They told me they would need to put in hollow box frames so they could hold an internal metal pole and embed it in concrete below the frost line. The concrete was never put in and they reinstalled the gate door incorrectly so it immediately was blown off (they had put the gate door on and left the door open without putting BACK the hitching post that I reminded them needs to be put back — as if I should have to remind them). The hollow box frame also cracked immediately because the gate door is too heavy for it. Shouldn’t they have known this? I called them and met the man who took the gate door off who told me they would fix it right for free this time. After I reminded them via email, they dumped the gate door in my back yard six months later without responding or letting me know. I wrote all of this in an email a few weeks ago and they have ignored it. Anyone who knows my house — and many people do as it’s very visible and Jamie told me he drives by it every day — knows my gate has NEVER worked. Because they never put the one gate post in cement, that post has hiked up almost a foot so the gate door cannot even be put back on as it will not line up with the rest of the gate that remains attached. Yes I have let too much time go by without pestering them because I was told they would fix it for free last summer so I did not want to hassle them as I assumed they would only be able to squeeze me in somewhere. However they incorrectly installed the gate post and gate door and they have told me that the gate they originally designed and installed is faulty and essentially will always break because the doors are too heavy. So why did they ever put them on in the first place and later charge me over $1000 to (incorrectly) fix them only to tell me this?
The installers were very professional with not so much as a piece of string left in our yard to pick up when they were finished. The fence itself was nicer than either my wife of I had imagined. The installers suggested a slight design modification that simply made a huge difference in the outcome. Highly recommend this company.
