Syracuse City Police Department

Thanks Syracuse P.D. for anything we need help with. Thank you for also being kind and generous and surprising flowers for our employee that is going through medical issues. You guys took the time out of your day to show you care. It shows a lot of character thanks for all you do.

Every time I go here, I feel like the officers care about what I’m saying. Even if it’s a minor complaint they will listen and offer any kind of help they can. They make sure you feel safe and know that you can count on them. Honestly one of the best police departments in Utah. I’d give more stars if I could. Thanks you guys!

I thought they would be mean they are actually pretty nice.

Someone hit my car and the police informed me that their systems were down and he wouldn’t be able to assist with a police report or information exchange sheet til a later date. Insurance is asking for a police report and I emailed him and asked for it and he rudely told me no that I had to drive in and get it through the front office. I drove to the front office and they have me fill out paperwork and then inform me that by law they have ten days to get it to me and that it costs $10. So I leave and the minute I get home they call and say it’s ready. Why tell me ten days when they could have just said 20 min and I would have waited? Guess I’m heading back... On a separate occasion, my wife was pulling into my driveway and I noticed the headlight was out, so I got in, drove to O’reilly and bought a new lamp. As I’m pulling out, I’m pulled over and I knew what it was for. I show the officer the receipt with the time and date showing I just purchased it. We both had a laugh and I was on my way. A few minutes later I’m pulled over by a second officer for the same thing, only this time he had a second patrol car with him. I showed him the receipt and he let me on my way. By this time I couldn’t believe that three patrol vehicles had pulled me over within a mile of my house. What would have only been a ten minute trip was already pushing an hour. As I near my neighborhood I see lights in my rear view mirror again! Three times being pulled over within a mile of my house. By this time I was frustrated. How could these guys be doing real police work when they were focusing so much attention on my headlight (which was the whole reason I was out driving in the first place, to buy the headlight!) I showed him the receipt and vented my frustration at the situation and he told me to hold on a sec. He went back to his car and thirty minutes later 3 other patrol vehicles are behind me. This was within blocks of my home. I’m sure I looked like a real criminal! I figured by now I had met every officer in the whole department! I vented my frustration to them and told them I thought they were wasting public resources when they could be out fighting crime. They didn’t like that, and wrote me a bogus ticket for “failure to yield to an emergency vehicle” because I “ took to long to stop.” I laughed and told them I’d see them in court. I went and had it dismissed with the city attorney, before it even went to court. He couldn’t believe it. Point of these two stories is that these guys have too much time on their hands and too many resources being wasted, and when I really needed them for the accident, they couldn’t manage basic duties.
