My children's teachers are fabulous! They care about each child and are really good at communicating with me about my kids progress and goals. We have a new principal this year and he is absolutely amazing! I love how the 1st grade teachers have wobble stools, bean bags, scoop chairs and more so the kids can learn comfortably and can wiggle like normal kids. These teachers seem to go out of the box with the standard teaching structure and understand that kids learn in many different ways. I love how the school teaches the seven habits to the kids and I see it implemented into their lives because the school makes such a big deal about it. They also give the older children mentor and leadership opportunities. We did a homeschool/charter school combo before we moved here and I was wary and hesitant due to the great schools rating that Roy Elementary had, I almost didn't try Roy elem. I am so glad I did. I am completely impressed!
My children's teachers have been paramount in their transition to this new school. Both Miss Monroe (1st) and Mrs. Allen (3) have been so patience and their communication with me is unprecedented. I wish there was a way to increase their salaries, as both are very deserving. Again, don't let the Title I ranking scare you. They use this allocate more federal funds and resources for the kids, thus everyone benefits more from this seemingly unfavorable rating. Please, support your teacher's everywhere. Our kids are safe in their hands here at Roy Elementary.
It's a friendly 4A school that has a lot of amazing teachers. It's very safe and a great PE program. Also it serves free school lunch in the summer for kids in need.
