Virgo Hair Braiding Salon

I really enjoyed my experience with Virgo Hair Braiding! I was able to make an appointment with ease. I will suggest making your appointment at least two days in advance because they do get really busy, however, if you are getting something simple they do take walk ins. Virginie was so sweet and did an amazing job on my hair. She walked me through the entire process and let me know what to expect with my choice of style (Medium, waist length box braids). She made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire time. I've already received so many compliments on my hair, I love it! I will definitely be back.

Detailed review:nnLet me start by saying that my hair does look nice butnnMy appointment was at 9 so I arrived early and no one was there. Called at 9:11 to ask what was going on and turns out she forgot about my appointment. She asked me to come back at either 10:30 or 11.nnWent home and left for the salon again at around 10:15. I got a call at 10:28 that she was 15mins away but I got to the salon first waited for over 20 mins and decided to grab some more braiding hair from Hair City Beauty since it’s down the street and I was unsure if she had hair in stock at her salon. Got an angry call about where I was, I told her I was about 5 mins away, I walked through the door at around 11:05. Sat down and showed her what I wanted. She said she could do it turns out she couldn’t. I came into the salon with freshly washed and blowed dried hair tied up in a bun. She ripped my hair tie out of my hair, I had 2 strand twist around just on the front of my hair line and she raked her hands through one to take it out. She ended up pulling my hair and tangling the front of it. She proceeded to complain that my freshly washed hair was greasy after SHE put grease in it! I didn’t use any product in my own hair when I blowed dried it because I wanted it to be as clean as possible since it’s going to be braided for awhile and I didn’t want to many products in it.nnShe said that my hair was so greasy she was having a hard time braiding it and parting it. SHES THE ONE THAT PUT GREASE IN MY HAIR! I don’t use grease in my hair, this was the first time I’ve had grease in my hair for years and she’s the one that put it there! She started my hair In the back made like one row then jumped to the top side of my head. She parted like 2-3in triangle sections and proceeded to braid a pinky sized braid at the center of each section. She had the side of my head done with just 3 braids. I told her I wanted smaller braiding sections, so the price jumped from $150 before my discount to $230, just because I wanted my hair to look like the pictures I showed her at the start of my appointment. She said that small triangle parts cost extra because they were harder to do. She started over and the new triangles she did were extremely uneven, they were not the same size and the lines were crooked. I asked for regular square box braid for the rest of my head. It was established I would only be paying $150 again since I was no longer getting the triangles and instead getting regular braid it would go back to the regular price.nnShe once again blamed my “greasy” hair being the culprit. I asked if she wanted to wash my hair if it was to greasy to work with. She said no she could make it work, that it was just going to take longer. 6-7hrs later my hair was pretty much done, she clipped the millions of little fly aways that made my braids look fuzzy. The whole point of me starting to get my hair braided is that I want it to get long. How’s it going to get long with her taking scissors to it?nnAt the end of it my hair looks nice but it wasn’t worth $230. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had getting my hair done. I just wanted to leave and never look back, and bit the bullet and paid her outrageous price rather than argue with her in the salon.nnShe gave me an attitude for trying to pay with my Visa card, despite telling me she accepted card when I made my appointment back in December. And then was rude when I told her I had to have my husband bring me more cash.
