What a beautiful site! Love the oak trees with the Spanish moss and the gardens are just so pretty. Such a large property with a lot to see. We spent about 3 hours there and could have spent more time but it was closing. The drive to the estate is beautiful too! Cant go to Charleston without visiting Middleton Place.

Beautiful gardens and walking paths. We visited in April and the flowers were in bloom making the walks even more enjoyable. You can pay extra to get a tour of the house.nnMany animals to see (horse, cow, sheep, hog, rabbit, chicken, and more). No petting though unless a staff member gives you permission.nnRestaurant on the grounds: not taking lunch reservations, you can make dinner reservations though and/or pay extra to rent a room for your party.

In my opinion this is a must see if visiting Charleston especially if you want a break from the downtown area. So much history and beauty is represented. I could imagine myself on this property during the 1800s. I personally enjoyed it more than the Magnolia Plantation and I think that is due to the symmetry and landscaped nature of the gardens and that the house museum contained furniture pieces from the Middleton family. There is a tree there that is 37 feet in diameter and estimated to be 900 years old. Amazing!

Very nice gardens. Need a good 3 hours or more. Good restaurant on site. Well worth the visit. Did not buy house tour. Not very big. Online pics show enough.

Loved walking through the grounds. Beautiful place, trees were amazing. Love seeing the Live Oaks, so impressive. If only they could talk the history they have lived through.
