I have passed this museum at least 50 times, and never once has it been open. It sure looks interesting from the parking lot, but hours posted on the door don't seem to mean anything.
Cherokee Strip Museum in Perry, Oklahoma is a neat place to visit. The Cherokee Strip is very important to the history of Oklahoma. I would encourage you to stop by and check out this cool museum. The hours of operation are altered due to the Covid 19 virus. You can still park in the parking and walk around the grounds to explore what they have on site. Get out and enjoy the beautiful places in our great state!
I love working here so peaceful
Not a large museum, but the staff is very helpful and even willing to walk through the place with you and explain things to you. The old school house was a great building to see. I wish they would add a few more sites and some old ranching and farming equipment and tools, and perhaps an old pioneer style home. However, I give it 5 stars because it is an excellent museum for a town of just 5000 people.
Even though the museum is closed because of this virus going around, we were able to take my grandson out there and let him walk and run around on the grounds for exercise, with no people to bother
