Howard Hall Elementary School

This is probably one of the most horrifying schools I’ve ever dealt with. My wife and I ran into issues with our military PCS because they packed boxes they weren’t supposed to. One of the boxes we packed contained our son’s birth certificate. Thankfully the school we left was willing to directly send a copy of his birth certificate to Howard Hall. When I explained this to one of the front desk personnel (Mrs Brown), she had an attitude and didn’t understand why the moving company would pack a box that shouldn’t have been packed.... When I told her an attitude wasn’t necessary, she immediately lowers her voice and changed her tone, followed by the excuse of their fax machine not work. We immediately called the prior school back and explained the issue with Howard Hall’s fax machine. The prior school told us that they’d gladly email the documents of someone would email them. We call Howard Hall back and tell them they can email the request.... We call and visit the next day and we’re greeted by another person who said Mrs Brown never passed the information on about emailing. We leave the information with a different person, and again this falls through the cracks. My wife contacts the person in charge of administration and she tells us that Mrs Brown not the other lady passed this information on and that we’d have to wait. We call back the prior school and they confirm that no one had contact them yet. Instead they email us the copies so we can print them and turn them into the school... We finally get my son into school with the help of the prior school.nnBecause we just moved to the area, we had the luxury of dropping and picking him up at school. We explain to our son’s teacher that on Sept 10th, he will start going to day care and the day care will pick and drop him off. The teacher verbally acknowledges this change, but of course that drops through the cracks and I get a call from the day care that my son wasn’t there. The school NEVER called us at all to tell us anything. We had to call the school to verify that he was there at school because they sent him to the wrong area for pick up.nnI know the first few days can be hectic, but at this point I’m convinced my son will be set up for failure with such an incompetent staff. We’ve definitely transfer him elsewhere once we completely settle into our house.

Howard Hall has a great office staff and teachers, and high parent involvement.
