This historic location is a site located on the Register of Historic National Places. It is the jail that Chaney, Goodman, and Schwerner was jailed in what is known as the Freedom Summer Murders that inspired movies such as Mississippi Burning.nnI had this historical landmark's zoning status changed to residential which it was previously zoned commercial. The two apartments are very nice. I mean could you really ask for a more solid, sturdy, and well insulated home. She's not going anywhere anytime soon I don't think. I feel happy knowing a place with a dark history is now the bright home of two individual families who may rest well knowing they are secure.
At the center of the civil rights freedom summer of 1964 and background for the Mississippi Burning movie.
The old jail has been turned into two apartments. They are well kept and quite large
