Wow!! When I say today was worth the wait. I have never really been places in my days of living but I am sick of just working and going home so, I’m doing stuff to just enjoy my time here. Back to the main focus... The animals! They are so beautiful to see up close and personal. Literally eating out of your hands and looking in your eyes. They only thing is we didn’t pay online but even if you do you still have to park and walk to get your tickets. Then walk back to your car if you are using your own vehicle to then drive down in to the safari park. We had a blast even sitting waiting for the cars to move along. Just the sight of the animals doing what they do best is just spectacular. I highly recommend getting lots of food because the two bags we had didn’t last the whole ride because my husband want to feed them all. Lol!
Where else are you going to be able to hand feed bison ( and then gently coax them to get their head out of your car?) Over 250 acres of free roaming exotic game animals (including giraffes!) This is a petting zoo on steroids. While the walk-through section feels criminally cramped for the primates and predators on display after all of that freedom, it's still an impressive exhibition nestled in Pine Mountain.nnIt's the ultimate in socially distant fun (taking your own car or rental van eliminates almost all non-bubble contact) and if you love animal biology, you'll like this.
This experience was so unlike our past visits. We rented a van and bought 8 bags of food (we had 7 in our group) We got a few pizzas and pretzels while we waited for our van. The pizzas were undercooked. The Young girl at the counter was very nice and let us exchange for more pretzels As we walked to our rental van, we should have known something was up when a family gave us 2 partial and 1 full bags of food after their drive through. The animals were not interested in the food that was sold to us. The animals didn't even come up to the cars. There was so much food on the side of the roads. It was pure greed that the park kept selling food and didn't seem to monitor how many people were purchasing and feeding the animals. The park needs to do a better job of monitoring this and change up the good that is available for sale to keep the animals interested. The herds of animals also seemed much smaller. we definitely will not be back. Would not recommend.
Brought the entire family and had a wonderful time. I suggest buying the family package of feed. I saw many broken hearts from family's running out of food. It's not very expensive and it goes the entire way. On a second note... I highly suggest renting one of their vehicles. Not only did it add to my children/our overall excitement, but it saved me from having to fix damaged in my vehicle. The animals we met were particularly nice, but we did notice some people having to speed off so the animal wouldn't enter their car. It is all safe and sound, just trying to save you some scratches. They also have a walk around exhibition you can view(already covered in the price) which passes time while waiting on a vehicle. The concession stand is pretty basic with plenty to choose from. All in all I give it 5 stars, particularly because my daughter is immunodeficiency, and they gave me an extra 15 minutes to sanitize the vehicle. Awesome experience!
Fun times, but some of the animals are quite aggressive.
