Very interesting house. Filled with many period pieces. Loved that they offer a choice of an in-person docent tour or recorded tour. We really enjoyed learning about the house and its inhabitants and contents from Julia and Hannah. Make sure you check out the items in their gift shop, especially the books.nnBONUS: If you continue walking south along Aviles for a block or so, you will come upon the Father Miguel OReilly house which is closed currently due to Covid concerns (it is run by the Sisters of St. Joseph, I think). Turn right on the next street and just outside the school playground on your left is one of the most interesting trees in the area, a live oak with a palm growing right up through the middle of it.

We had a wonderful tour of the property. There is a rich history of the homes here. Beautiful antique pieces bring history alive. We visited on the morning after a paranormal investigation took place so we received a little extra information. It was so fun if you like this kind of thing! Our guide was lovely and knowledgeable about the area.

This was a fabulous tour of real life in the mid 1800's, with authentic antiques, materials and tools, boarding house bedrooms exactly as furnished in those times. Excellent tour with audio guides.

Historic boarding house. Guided and audio tours available. Takes you through the different rooms with residents' belongings laid out on display. Middle of tour is upstairs. Staircase to upper floor, did not see an elevator. Friendly staff.
