Between this view or the Shipwreck Musuem view, I'd choose the latter. This one doesn't really have a nice view of the ocean, but it does have a decent view of the quaint town of Key West. The cost for this is a bit overpriced, but it does keep the crowds out so it's easy to get to the top of the lighthouses without too much of a bother.nnThey also have a small museum that you can enjoy with history of the light house. I wasn't particularly interested in it, but it has good info.nnOther than that, they have a gift shop that you can get to for free.

Cool place to visit - learn a bit about life in the early days of Key West and learn about life as a Lighthouse Keeper!nnThe visit to the top of the lighthouse is a must! Wonderful views and beautiful fresh air! It’s only 91 steps up (and a dizzying equal amount of steps down!) but totally worth the exercise!nnThe small museum is housed in the old house for the keeper and his family. It’s air conditioned and provided a calm and educational break from the craziness of Key West.nnI highly recommend a visit.

A great touristy attraction just across the street from the Hemmingway House museum. The stairs are twisty and spiral up to the top where, if you're not height phobic (like me), you can enjoy some spectacular views of surrounding Key West. I had to get down as quickly as possible, as it was very windy.nnAlthough, before descending the staircase, I did overhear the guide at the top saying the lighthouse was put together in numerical puzzle piece style fashion, piece by piece, and the individual section numbers are still visible. He also said the staircase was modeled off the staircase in the Statue of Liberty.nnThere is also a small museum next to the ticket booth to satisfy your craving for lighthouse history. A fun way to spend at least 30 minutes to an hour.nn(One thing I must mention is that the lighthouse staircase is very, very narrow and as a result it is extremely difficult to pass others going up as you are going down. Trying to slide past is bit unsettling and precarious. Be aware.)

Nothing crazy to rant about but if you're looking for something to do, it was pretty neat to see the town from that view up there and it isn't crazy expensive. The stairs definitely feel longer than i thought!nnWorth checking out if you're into pretty views and taking pictures.

The Key West Lighthouse & Keeper's Quarters Museum did not disappoint! The 360° views of the 2 mile x 4 mile island was breathtaking and spectacular to say the least! They had a gentleman up in the top of the light house who was a historian and did an excellent job of answering all of our questions. You could look out and see the entire island + some as you walk around the perimeter of the light house. The Keeper's Quarter's Museum was quite interesting and we spent a lot of time in there. Plus, it was air conditioned! There are 88 stairs to the top, so we definitely recommend close toe + sturdy shoes!
