My experience waa nice. During pandemic conductor or cleaning person kept coming through wiping down cleaning and spraying. But I think they should have cleaned the area where someone get off the train. For example a customer getting off in Richmond there was no cleaning of that area where that customer had just vacated. So this area should have immediately been attended to before the next customer sit in that possible infected area. Only a suggestion trying to remain safe. Otherwise, there were no other issues that I saw.

Whoever gave this station anything above one star lied. Fast food parking lots are bigger and better maintained. Also, safety is a huge issue due to the area having the highest crime rate in the state. There is supposed to be a new station built in a different location, but those plans keep getting delayed by years. The train employees are hit and miss. Some are great and some hate their jobs.
The station is small but the rail is wonderfulnThe quiet car is my favorite car and the time schedule is pretty regular. I have rode the train from Newport News to Boston several times.
Customer service was poor lady didn't give me a chance to ask her any questions I was waiting to pick up my other half and needed to use the restroom so i started to ask we're were they and before I could get it out my mouth she said it's for people getting off the train so better customer service is always helpful
