I had an appointment with Mrs. Shelley Knight and as a retired Vet she made my experience transitioning and applying for benifits easy to understand. She explained everything and made my claim as if I were family. She even gave up a part of her personal lunch time to accept me as a walk in. I went to a branch in Norfolk and got good service but not great service like Mrs. Knight provided. Thank you Mrs. Knight for having a heart full of compassion for Vets during times of transitioning or filing claims for well deserved men and women.

The man in this office is very rude and I will be filing a formal complaint. Once I stated I moved and he realized I was out of his region, even though I filed my claim in their office, he continually cut off my statements with phone numbers with out letting me fully explain the situation. Then he hung on me. Very unprofessional and I will be taking this disrespectful situation very seriously. Is the way we treat our veterans they moved. I still did not get all the information I needed.

Totally Understaffed & Disgrace to Veterans & their Families that Govt does not provide more staff & a secretary! Message box is always full so you can't leave a message. The 1 time I was able to leave a message, I never got a call back. I also Left several emails to 2 members of staff & neither responded. When I went in at 7:40 am for the walk in service, there was a sign on the door saying Already Full & No Longer Accepting Walk Ins today. I went in anyway & waited an hr to make an appointment to come back since I could never get through on the phone. No one called me to confirm my appointment a few months later nor did anyone answer the phone or email when I tried to reschedule. My friend's brother died recently & she was sent by the VA Beach office to the Norfolk office when she came in as a walk in & then on to Chesapeake (7 hours) before she was able to get information. When a family is grieving & wants an American Flag to drape on their loved one's casket & you can't find discharge papers, save yourself time & buy your own flag online. This 11month journey with the VA & Missouri record center has been a nightmare & my Dad is still alive. He is 87 today & a disabled veteran & time will tell if anything will be sorted out by the time he passes. Something needs to be DONE to upgrade this process & get the proper staffing! Our Veterans Do Not Deserve This Treatment! The poor people working there are spread so thin and can NOT do it by themselves!

Awesome experience. If you need help with your VA statuses, claims, or just general information, they DEFINITELY can help. Get there early (7 am) because there will be a line due to their great service. Thank you Ms. Shelly and Ms. Virginia!
