I was involved in a Hit and Run DUI a week ago. No information was provided to me about the other driver even though he was arrested within minutes. I have been back and forth every day trying to obtain information and still can not find if the other driver was insured. They are giving me the run around and making me do all the investigating myself. It's been a hell of a time and only the desk officer has been helpful. Dispatchers are a joke in both 1st and 2nd precinct's. They brush the matter off, laugh, and refuse to help. My patience has run out. The arresting officer (the 1 time I've spoke with him) has stated he would personally go to the vehicle owners home and find out. It's been 3 more days and he has not returned my messages. I've been told the investigation has been passed to 2 more officers which have not contacted me either. Why is it I was asked for my information at the scene and the driver was not? Why have I had to track down the vehicle information myself? And why do they not know if the driver has a registered insured vehicle? They told me if they are not insured they will write the driver and additional ticket. What the heck???? Completely dissatisfied with their performance and concern for the person (me) who was not the cause of the accident. Here I am left with a mangled car and no help. Thanks a lot.

Today I had the privilege of donating lunch for the muster and get a tour of the precinct. What a wonderful group of people. I want to work here every day.

They take the longest to clear accidents to prevent traffic. Too many officers and not enough action. How are my tax dollars paying for these non traffic aware uniform fillers?!

I was issued a citation for riding a Bird scooter. There are no signs telling you it is illegal and while I was getting the ticket there were hundreds of scooters passing me. This issue needs to be bigger than issuing individual citations to people on vacation. Obviously unhappy with the police department for being unreasonable and the city council for issuing laws that cannot be fairly enforced. If you want to give a speeding ticket, you have to have a speed limit sign up....similarly, if you want to issue citation for riding a scooter you need to have signs up. Thanks Virginia Beach Police Department for being unreasonable!!!

I got rear ended while vacationing in Virginia beach and the accident was blamed on me by police, please tell me in what universe am I at fault for getting rear ended? No they gave me a ticket because they knew it would be easy money for them because I'm obviously not gonna drive 8 hours to court to fight a traffic ticket. The vb police always try to blame accidents on out of towners even if it clearly wasn't their fault. So messed up how they can get away with this!
