Beautiful and serene environment, makes for a great hike around the trail. There is the potential of seeing a lot of unadulterated wildlife and landscape. The view of the water on the back half of the trail was clean and clear with only the occasional duck blind dotting the picture. The only drawback the trail has is that there are more ticks than you can possibly count. Whether you bring your dog (which will be tick infested so hopefully their vaccines and antiparasite medication are up to date) or you just walk on a date you will spend your evening not so romantically picking deer ticks, dog ticks, and Lonestar ticks off of your significant other...or best friends for that matter. Even with wearing long, tight clothing that is tucked in with minimal exposure they will be crawling all over your clothes and you will find them underneath. Be warned. But overall it was a very pleasant walk that I would recommend.

Great trails and views. Dogs not allowed. Didn't find that out until I was already a couple of miles in. A conservation officer was there and greeted me, let me know the rules but let me continue since we were already that far back. Very polite and pleasant.

It's well maintained but the swamp has only one trail and it is to the pier. Nothing really exciting to see here.
