Folsom Museum

For such a small town, in the middle of nowhere America, this little town is LOADED with history, and Folsom Museum is the place to learn about it all ! The owners are unbelievably nice people who’s family has been in this area for many generations. They know all the area’s history, and love to tell people about it! I could spend days just sitting and talking with them about it ! You must visit!

A real nice little museum that is the keeper of local history right along the old Colorado and Southern RR right away.

It is an overcrowded eclectic hodgepodge of history and local memorabilia. The hostess is very friendly, knowledgeable older lady that knows exactly what's there and where it is, so if you're looking for something specific chances are you'll find it. And oh yeah....the sign about snacks over exaggerated.

A true hidden gem! A must see if you are a local history buff. The museum is in an old general store. It outlines archeological finds from the past as well as the history of the village.

Very interesting history, and many artifacts from the past (from clothing, to kitchenware, to archaeology, and much more). I would highly recommend visiting if you are in the area for some interesting local history (or New Mexico history in general). The woman who was working at the museum the day we visited was very helpful and showed us around a bit. Got some post cards from the small shop they have in there. I will definitely go back if I am in the area.
