The service this morning was alright. Wait time was fast. Reinstating my license.. I now have to seek out a local driving school to take my test as they no longer do driving tests here. Online services said I had no other obligations to fulfill to get new DL. Wish the online services would have told me this as I would have done it before my appointment today.

Daniel, employee number 2221, refused to show me the slightest human decency. I had a signed letter from the county attorney's office explaining their clerical error and that it shouldn't prevent me from obtaining my license. He refused to even read it, he looked at it but for no more than 3 or 4 seconds, obviously not reading it. I had to, as an adult, take a learner's permit over something that could've been resolved by taking the time to remember the people at the counter are more than a number and an inconvenience. People like Daniel are the reason the DMV has the reputation that it does. Good job Dan.

Driver's licenses/renewals are not easy to come by these days... Staff are nice but, despite my best efforts, I was turned away for not having all the correct paperwork (which seems like a nearly impossible task). After carefully navigating the paperwork requirements online, I called the office to make sure I had everything I needed (you don't want to mess this up because it could take another 2 months to get an appointment). I confirmed I had everything I needed over the phone, but alas, the day of my appointment, I was told because my W2 only had the last 4 of my SSN, it didn't meet the requirement. No matter how hard you try, you will never defeat federal and state bureaucracy. Next time, I'll just bring my entire filing cabinet to the office... I'm thinking the next time, I may need written testimony from the doctor who delivered me, that, I am in fact, a natural born citizen...

I wish I could give them ZERO stars. I've been to multiple DMVs throughout many states (including Chicago) and this has been BY FAR the WORST experience at any DMV I've ever been to. I've been given the run around and told I need extra documents when their website says nothing about them. Every single person I've talked to has been extraordinary rude, accusatory, and plain disrespectful. Wish I could talk to somebody about it but literally NOBODY is willing to help Me. This is a public office and it shouldn't be this difficult to get a driver's license. F***ING disgraceful.
