Large hut with a lot of space for a big group. Unfortunately, most of the area around the hut is pretty low angle and the avalanche danger was extremely high so we didn't get to explore the more exciting terrain further away from the hut.nnOur lack of skiing aside, it's a beautiful spot situated at the top of the pass and a great place to get away from the busy world without sacrificing the comfort of a warm bed and gas stove.
Was not part of my main destination, simply walked by them on my up Black Powder Trail after a visit to the Troll down in Breckenridge.nPretty nice views.
Good hut. As always it depends on your fellow visitors, but ours were great.nnA nice but very simple kitchen. Bunk beds can be pretty noisy.
Such a cool place! I am amazed people lived here and worked particularly with rail! I can’t imagine what the winter was like!
This is an awesome little area to explore on the pass! We were driving around checking out the changing leaves and stopped here to have a picnic on our truck tailgate.
