Water is safe. I am a teacher at Clay Elementary School. I teach 2nd grade. I would like to respond to the review regarding lead in the water. San Diego Unified tested all water faucets in the school for lead. They all passed the guidelines for water quality set by the state of California. San Diego Unified imposed stricter guidelines and by these stricter guidelines, one water fountain is off limits. All other water fountains are fine for use. Clay Elementary takes the health and well being of our students seriously. We also have the highest expectations for academic growth and personal responsibility for all students.
I have a grandchild that attends this school, in first grade. Last year they were told they could bring dry snacks and water bottle. Well that didn't work out. Lead in faucet pipes last year as well as this year. Please be advised and have your children bring distilled water. Do not drink from faucet.
I love this school my first time as parent with a kindergarten im super exited Mr Holderman is a great teacher and It makes easier to leave your child for the first time with someone that you feel good about it . All the staff is very nice, my kid loves going to school!..Go wildcats !!!
