A hidden gem in Northwestern MN! Loved coming here as a kid every summer with my Mom on our way home from swimming at Lake Bronson State Park. I still love coming here as an adult and finding something new about my home, my family, my community, and my state. It's even better going with friends and family who can tell you their own experiences and memories as you walk through the exhibits.
Super interesting displays. And lots of local history as well. Ladies were nice and helpful. Denfitenitly more than meets the eye in this place
Amazing pride in local heritage shows though out this museum. We stopped here as my wife was hoping to gather some family tree information for relatives from this area in the early 1900's. As she worked with the curator I wandered the displays. If you appreciate rural/agricultural history like I do you could spend days here. The displays are top notch and diverse. From the recreated period rooms to the sheds of old carriages, cars, farm implements, snow machines and on and on I was enthralled. The curator shared that she had been there over 30 years and you could tell it was not her job, but her pride and joy.nnEven if you can only take time for a short visit DO IT. There is no fee but they do take well deserved donations.nnThe family tree info the curator helped us to discover? Well, grandpa had a wife and child no one knew about......
The ladies here are so friendly. They helped me with some research and visited with me and my friend for quite a while. Also, so much to see!!
