a place to walk on a nice trail winter, spring, summer or fall.
Great price of history, nice walking tour.
The CCC Museum building was locked when we visited, but the rest of the buildings were open. They detailed the program to reforest Michigan and how they collected and germinated tree seedlings to ship all over the state. I had no idea. It was very interesting.
If you've ever been in the michigan woods and seen those long strait rows of pines and wondered why they're like that, this place will explain it. Both what it was like before, why they needed to be planted, and how they went from a pine cone to a pine tree. Lots of cold restored buildings and very detailed signage to tell you all about it. Better yet, 2019 is the 100th anniversary of Michigan's state parks, so why not?
Great place to play pokemon go outdoors and on foot without worrying about traffic. Solid turn out of people, and everyone had a fun time. Will return.
