Our stay at Hodgdon Pond Farm was from June 9-16 2018. Cottage #2. All of the comforts of home in a very rural setting. Just a short drive to the ocean or to the very picturesque Cadillac Mountain. We enjoyed everything about our stay from just hanging around and fishing at the pond to trips to Cadillac mountain and Bar Harbor as well as going out for a lobster dinner and playing mini-golf. Even Wal-Mart isn't very far away to Ellsworth should you need anything but the cottage was pretty well stocked with everything besides personal food preferences. The fishing was fantastic and the canoe gave us good access to some good spots but even right at the dock we caught a lot of fish. For the week we caught a staggering 85 fish. Among the fish that we caught was 50 chain pickerel ,28 yellow perch , 4 3lb plus smallmouth bass, a 3lb largemouth bass, a sunfish and a bullhead catfish. Most were caught on our homemade spinners. The chain pickerel ranged in size from 9 inches to a nice 23.5 incher. We also enjoyed several visits from an eagle and also saw a nice whitetail buck, a beaver, a muskrat, some loons, ducks and squirrels. I can't think of anything that would have made our stay any better. From the cottage to the views to the surroundings in and around Mt. Desert Island, we truly had the vacation of a lifetime.nnThe Michaels family
