This is a really good spot for Railfanning aka Trainspotting I come A LOT to this spot and love Trainspotting here!! There’s never a day or hour where there’s no action
If you are an occasional user, be prepared to walk at least a mile from parking lot to the ticket window. Oh btw, they still have ild system. Where you pay cash only and shove money in the slots.
There is a great coffee shop, Next Stop Coffee Shop, in the Metra station. The owner sells his own honey and lip balms in addition to an assortment of snacks and coffee, including Metropolis coffee.
Train did stop at the station, would recommend if you need to catch one.
Nice village with attractive homes and a quaint downtown.
