South Charleston Interpretive Center of the Mound and Midland Trail

A fantastic local museum! Great way to spend an afternoon and be sure to see if Gloria can give you a tour - she's a treasure!

After visiting the Criel Indian Mound in South Charleston (intriguing but not a lot to see), I noticed a sign inviting visitors to stop in the nearby Interpretive Center. This led to a very pleasant tour of the museum with a most charming docent named Gloria. She is a wealth of knowledge on the history of the region from Native Americans, early settlers, industrialization, and into modern times. Lots of artifacts to see and hear about. Highly recommend a visit when in the area.
