I came primarily to see the Mark Bradford exhibit, but ended up spending a considerable amount of time visiting other areas of this large and very interesting gallery. I was very surprised to see Edgar Degas’ “Little Ballerina” sculpture there as I thought there was only one in the National Gallery of Art. Well, that is the original one in DC, but I learned there are 28 copies. I would love to visit BMA again soon and spend more time.n(I originally wrote this review a couple of years ago, but just made a minor edit.

This is a beautiful museum. I was very surprised to find there was no admission fee when I arrived. There is a diverse collection of art including tapestry, sculpture, African art, Asian pieces, contemporary, European and American art.

They even have an Asian and an African section. Parking is decent, not outstanding but they have a few spots close by. 3 levels and it’s all FREE! Worth a visit for some at some point in your life.

One of the highlights of our visit to Baltimore - holds its own with a stunning Matisse collection unlike any I’ve seen so far in the world, thanks to the Cone sisters. Wonderfully curated with informative placards and free admission is wonderful.

Fantastic exhibits, beautiful space. The only drawback is the unbelievable amount of people crammed inside of it, It can be noisy and overflowing with giant packs of schoolkids on field trips, making it hard to get close to a lot of the exhibits. Food is decent but way overpriced, but what can you expect for SF.
