Ekiben

First of all, you can smell the delicious food as you're driving/walking up to Ekiben, which for me, was the beginning of the whole experience. There was a bit of a wait for the food, but it's not unreasonable at all, especially for what we got as a reward for our patience. The food was amazing. We went a bit overboard and got 3 entrees and 2 sides, but it was so worth it. We ordered the shrimp snacks (so deliciously crispy), the fried broccoli side (so much flavor packed into each little piece of broccoli), the tackle box bowl (the fish was lightly spiced and wonderfully light), the spicy pork bun (so tender and flavorful) and the neighborhood bird bun (that sauce was so good and they use dark meat, so it's extra juicy and flavorful). We don't often go into the city, but we made a special trip for this and would absolutely do it again.

I was not expecting the shrimp I got to be so battered in dough the way it was. Was kinda hard to eat. Flavor was good but wasn't expecting all the rice I received. I would try something different next time. Not the same thing. Not sure if I should expect all fried food to have that much breaded stuff on it.

High quality food, when everything is eaten together it comes in great harmony. Individual items may be over seasoned dry themselves but very good overall. Ordering was a little cluster, they only accept on-line orders and take about 20 min. Overall very strong 4.5 stars

This place is phenomenal! Something new and exciting. If you've never had Taiwanese this is the place to start. Gourmet cuisine with a street food vibe! I'm hooked!

I ordered the pork roll. It was so Yummy! The flavors of the pork with those veg and the soft steamed bun just melted in my mouth! A must try.
