Staff was very helpful and friendly! I called before I went to make sure they could take in the little stray I found. It was very hard for me to leave him there but they made my experience a little easier!!

We had a small kitten turn up at our house late one night, it was obvious he belonged to someone as he's quite the cuddler! But with my family already having 5 cats to provide for, we can't take on #6 and no one ever responded to the many lost and found posts that my husband and I both spread along the internet.. The folks over at the animal shelter were great! They even made an exception in taking him since they don't take stray cats... But because he was so cuddly and sweet and obviously house broken, they agreed that he is adoptable! I didn't feel like I was handing him over to an evil witch like I expected. The staff was cool and obviously cared about what happened and will happen with this young kitten. They took the time to explain to us what the steps are that Sal (that's what we called the kitten during the week we kept him while waiting for the appointment date to bring him in) would go through before being placed for adoption and they also assured us that he wouldn't be euthanized. It did my heart a world of good just to know that his chances of finding his forever family are very high given his beautiful solid black coat and his young age. The staff was friendly and very helpful. You can see that they truly love the animals in their care.

The staff is very friendly and sweet however I have some serious complaints.nnFirstly they lied about the breed of dog I was adopting!nI was told my (now) dog was a lab...look at the vet bill and see PITBULL.nI love pitbulls! Don't get me wrong! However if someone who was afraid of them or lived somewhere where they weren't allowed and this happened this could have been really bad!nnSecondly they told me that his adoption fee included vaccinations, fixing, heart worm test. Essentially that he would be spiffy.nThey sent me a dog with tapeworms.nnI'm really happy with the dog I adopted, I love him to bits. However the fact they lied about his breed (wether intentional or not) and sent me a dog with worms after stating that I wouldn't have to worry is just awful.
