A great chance to see what the Keys were before the tourist industry started destroying everything. The Crane home is classic 50s, and the fish pedicure is surprisingly rejuvenating. A nice walk through nature in the middle of the city. Well done, and we'll worth the time. Parking is tight, do go early!

Our family is very into nature and history so this was really fun for us. It's not a far walk around the property but for young kids and seniors it might be a little harder. A must do is the fish pedicure! The kids and adults loved it. The views from the point were great. It was so cool seeing the Adderley settlement and the birds at the rehab center. Ending our day in the A/C of the museum was perfect. There was something for everyone.

This place is a great mixture of environmental, historical, and cultural resources. There is a small museum at the entrance which provides excellent resources regarding the history and ecology of the area, including 3D displays of typical species found within the property and nearby reefs, an assortment of artifacts collected from the property, and some artifacts from historic shipwrecks nearby. There is also a short video you can watch that describes the importance of the property and why it had been preserved From there, there are several trails of varying difficulty that take you around the property. The rest of the property boasts a bird rescue center (where you can watch the birds being fed), a relatively intact home from the first town to occupy the area (before marathon was around), the home of the owners who turned the property into a preserve (though the inside is currently closed to visitors), a cracker style home with a multitude of shells on display, a fish pedicure station (weird, but you gotta try it!) and various natural communities, some of which are only found in the keys.

This place is a simple and wonderful collection of local history, ecology, and done natural fun. The kids loved having they're feet nibbled by tiny fish, the walk was a touch longer than our 7yr old wanted but would go again in a heartbeat. If you time it right, watching the birds feed I was the kids favorite. Watching fish from a bridge was also fun, if only the paddle board or kayak rentals were open, this place might have been one of our tip experiences in the keys! Worth the time and money even so. Take your time, it can get hot, so go early-ish or late for the sunset

We absolutely loved this place. We love nature walks and the fish pedicure was so fun. We took our time and walked the whole thing and enjoyed all the different trails and stopping points. We did the whole thing in about 3 hours. All the little spots and trails are cool to walk around and explore.
