First time here, I didn't realize it was going to be frozen over but that just made it more fun! Excited to see it again in the summer. Definitely more of a hike than we anticipated - bring snow shoes or skis if you have them during the winter months!

We went mid week and it was great. There weren't many people so parking was not a problem. Many people were able to get to the lake wearing just boots. We used snow shoes and had no trouble walking in some of the less travelled areas.

Wonderful hike in. Snowshoes or cross country skis helpful depends on time of year. Later on not so. If the lake is frozen you can get amazing pictures from the middle. Take a hike get outside.

A loop of snowy wonder filled with snow shoeing and cross country skiers. However, the cross country tracks are filled with pot holes because there's also a lot of people walking in boots. Don't forget to bring doggy bags to clean up after your fur baby. There are no garbage cans around the park

Beautiful snow hikes. Some small sledding spots off the parking lot, but really intended for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. The main road had a good snow pack, but if you go off on side trails, sometimes you hit dry spots. We hiked dragging our kids on sleds behind us, and had them walk the uphills and (sometimes) sled the downhills if there were no other hikers/skiers. Some trails are closed because they go over bridges that are now under water, so mind the caution cones and your step. I recommend downloading a map of the trails and having it with you. We forgot and needed the map in a spot without cell coverage, so took a longer branch than we intended. Still, we enjoyed the beautiful snow meadows and lake.
