This is a nice museum. I went here while I was in Toledo and was satisfied with my experience. I walked into the museum and looked around at the different exhibits, which were pretty good. There were a lot of exhibits about the Great Lakes and the history of shopping and manufacturing in the Great Lakes. There are interactive exhibits such as a place where you can load toy coal onto a rail car and a place where you can drive a submersible underwater. After I walked around the museum building, I went to the museum’s ship, which is an actual Great Lakes cargo ship. I walked onto the ship and walked around all of it, which was fun. The ship is a bulk ship and you can go inside the bulk storage where the ship would store its cargo. You can also go inside the rooms of the shop, which has a cafeteria, captain’s room, and rooms for cremates. After I went around the ship, which is pretty long, I left the museum, satisfied with my experience. I gave this museum five stars because it has nice exhibits and a nice ship.
It was greatly informative, and the ship's docked outside the museum were really cool. Unfortunately, it was Monday, so there were no tours on the ships. Still didn't regret anything.
This museum was amazing! It was awesome to be able to go on a freighter and see what everything is like on the inside. The museum itself was really cool too, because it's all about the Great Lakes. So being from Michigan, it was cool to see all of the history that surrounds our state. Even if you aren't into ships, this is something that I think everyone should check out at least once. Learn something new.
My family and I enjoyed the exhibits. My girls had so much fun interacting with the different displays. It was really fun getting to tell them about what they are looking at and interacting with.
This museum is really well done, with interactive exhibits and a lot of cool artifacts. There's a lot to learn inside about the lakes and the history it's seen. The highlight is definitely boarding the freighter and being able to explore nearly the entire thing.
