Graduated 6th grade here in 1968. Needham is an upper middle class town known for it's excellent school system, this is in a residential neighborhood of single family houses on Tower Hill. Additional classrooms were added +/- 7 years ago, has a gym, cafeteria, playground, baseball field. Polling stations for 2 precincts on local/state/national election days. A few wooded acres on 2 sides. Traffic slows a little when school let's out due to a line of parents in cars waiting to pick up students. Currently K - 5. In 2017 received a little local and national attention when they chose to stop celebrating Halloween. Opened in 1951, named after a local doctor who was active in the community and town government in the early 1900s and donated the land for the school. On a personal note, my mom had 5 children spaced 16 years apart, she had at least one child attending Mitchell school for 23 consecutive school years. 1951 - 1975
